Expressive Arts & Action Methods in School Settings offers an experiential series of discussions and activities focused on emotional wellness to educators, therapists, and other professions working with school-aged children.
The "Fostering Emotional Intelligence and Personal Growth in School Settings " workshop elevates elementary-age students' emotional development and personal growth. Students delve into the transformative power of drama therapy and various expressive art techniques, aiming to build social connections and interpersonal skills. This workshop is a lively and nurturing space where students can freely express themselves, discover their strengths, and build the foundation for emotional well-being and confidence.
The workshop unfolds as a journey into the world of expressive arts, where spontaneity becomes a gateway to self-discovery, creativity becomes a tool for empowerment, and empathy becomes a cornerstone for building meaningful connections.

About the Program
The social-emotional competence certification is designed to equip participants to help children and adolescents develop healthy identities, manage emotions, and achieve personal and collective goals. Educators, community arts professionals, mental health practitioners, and anyone who wants to create social-emotional activities to foster supportive classroom environments and programs will benefit from this training. Participants will gain knowledge about the CASEL Social-Emotional Competencies (SEC), participate in cooperative learning strategies that increase engagement in learning, emotional wellness, and develop familiarity using tools and resources to implement SEL activities in a face-to-face and virtual setting. The social-emotional competence training highlights using metaphors and a combination of verbal and nonverbal communication through action methods and art modalities to support children and adolescents’ well-being, connectedness, and success. The development and use of SEC help to improve communication, self-reflection and allows the child to develop their mental potentials and resources, create an ability to try, experiment, and incorporate new healthy roles.
